Our story

From first principles
to product

Nanocut d.o.o. is a Slovenian family company based in Hrastnik, in the Zasavje region. Under one roof we cover a product's entire journey — from development and design, through laser cutting, bending, CNC milling and welding, to assembly and final testing. We develop and make everything ourselves.

We work from first principles. We look at every problem through the lens of physics and try to solve it as well and as efficiently as possible. This is exactly why our LED luminaires last so long — by understanding heat and how to dissipate it, we achieved a service life that far exceeds typical solutions. We apply the same logic to every product and solution — including industrial furnaces, where the goal is maximum energy efficiency.

With our own Luminos Ambiente LED lighting we supply industrial companies and commercial buildings across Slovenia. With the Luminos Nuclear® line — LED luminaires resistant to radioactive radiation — we also operate in more demanding international markets.

Milestones

Development over the years

2014
Nanocut d.o.o. founded
Start of development and manufacturing of Luminos Ambiente LED luminaires. First installations at local industrial companies.
2015–2016
Developing our own LED driver
Drawing on our expertise in switched-mode power supplies (SMPS), we developed our own LED driver — the key component of all our luminaires.
2017
Luminos Nuclear® development begins
We recognised a need for LED lighting in radiation environments and began developing luminaires resistant to gamma radiation.
2018–2023
Refining the products
Continuous improvement of the luminaires and expansion of the range — adding new models and versions for different industrial needs.
2024
Testing at ENEA Casaccia, Italy
A 47-hour gamma irradiation test at ENEA Casaccia. Total dose 156 kGy — the luminaires survived and operated normally.
2025–
Stainless steel and foreign markets
We are developing luminaires made entirely of stainless steel and entering international markets.

Our competences

LED lighting
Development and manufacturing of industrial LED luminaires for standard and demanding conditions. In-house driver development, in-house optics, flexible mounting. 7–10 year warranty.
Laser cutting & metalworking
6 kW fiber laser on two 3×1.5 m tables. CNC bending, CNC milling and MIG/MAG welding. Steel, aluminium, stainless — from prototype to series.
Custom projects
Industrial furnaces, special luminaires, firefighting equipment, UV crack-test systems. In-house design, in-house build, on-site commissioning. From idea to finished system.
Nuclear industry
Gamma-resistant LED luminaires for radiation environments. Resistant up to 150 kGy, tested at ENEA Casaccia (Italy).
Development & testing
In-house LED driver development (SMPS). Testing at accredited laboratories. Lighting calculations for projects. Tailored solutions for specific industrial conditions.
Team & support
